Turn Algorithm

Analysis Phase

  1. A person (Bruce) is chosen at random from the population.
    1. Bruce calculates what actions he will take this turn to satisfy his needs.
      • Bruce assumes each person in the population will trade exactly what they traded the previous turn and will choose his production based off of what maximizes the satisfaction of his needs.
    2. Bruce announces his product and what he would like to trade for (effectively his utility function).
  2. Repeat (1) with next randomly chosen person from the population.
    • Each subsequent person takes the previously computed peoples announcements, rather than previous turn data, for what they will trade.
  3. When all people have been calculated, start completely over where announcement data supplants previous turn data.
  4. Repeat (3) until no person changes their announcement, or 20*(population) cycles have been completed.

Production Phase

  • Each persons actions for the turn are carried out as decided in the Analysis Phase.
  • Resources are converted into products or destroyed.
